 Dr. Cris Johnsrud, principal of Pathfinder Research, Inc. has more than 20 years of experience in providing research, consulting and management support services in the area of technology-based economic development.
She collaborates with Federal laboratories, universities, business incubators, and private firms to improve and strengthen technology commercialization capabilities, strengthen leadership, and capitalize on growth opportunities.
Dr. Johnsrud currently collaborates with the Florida International Management Co. in developing and creating the Florida International Investment Fund, a hybrid angel-venture funding strategy to commercially develop advanced medical device technologies from around the world for US markets. With Ted Runions, Dialogue Circle, LLC, she offers a number of development and facilitation programs for individuals, top management and teams in business and non-profit organizations.
She conducts economic development research projects, manages the Southeastern US regional office for the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC), and, with strategic partners, helps researchers transition from the culture of the laboratory to the culture of business management. She also facilitates executive leadership roundtables, team development programs, and World Café breakthrough thinking seminars.
Dr. Johnsrud's most recent publications have focused on best practices for partnerships, emerging models of business incubation, and technology transfer. Professional affiliations include the International Association for Management of Technology (Fellow), Society for Applied Anthropology (Fellow), American Anthropological Association, National Association for the Practice of Anthropology, Florida Business Incubation Association, and the Gainesville Area Innovation Network (Board of Trustees).
